Culture and Etiquette

There are more than 200 ethnic groups in DRC and recent conflicts have shown that many of these groups are far from friendly with each other. Some 50% of the population adhere to animist beliefs. The rest are mostly Christian, while Muslims make up 10% of the population. A permit is required for photography and local authorities may still be sensitive.
