Local Media
Both the national press and the television stations are state-controlled and offer little criticism of the government and scant coverage of the opposition.
There are no English-language papers and just one national daily newspaper - Le Jour. There are a number of local private newspapers that publish weekly (or more sporadically) in Conakry; these tend to be more critical of the government. These include:
- Le Diplomate
- L'Enqueteur
- Le Lynx
- La Nouvelle Tribune
- L'Observateu
- Le Populaire
The state-run Radiodiffusion-Television Guineenne (RTG) is the only TV station available. RTG also broadcasts radio programmes in French, English and vernacular languages. There are also a number of private radio stations, including:
- Familia FM
- Liberte FM
- Radio Nostalgie Guinea
- Soleil FM
