Food and Drink

Local cuisine is mostly based on lamb, goat and rice. Dishes include:

• mechoui (whole roast lamb)
• dates
• spiced fish and rice with vegetables
• dried meat with couscous

Alcohol may be found in hotel bars. Camel's milk, or zrig, is popular.
