If eating with a family, be sure to wash your hands before and after the meal, as most Ugandans eat with their hands. Leaning on your left hand or stretching your legs during the meal is seen as disrespectful.

Casual dress is appropriate for most occasions. A handshake is a sufficient greeting.

It is customary to tip waiters and taxi drivers 10%.
