Local Media
The Korea Herald, The Korea Times and The Korea Daily News are all English-language newspapers. Korean-languages papers such as Chosun Ilbo, Dong-a Ilbo, Hangyore Sinmun and JoongAng Ilbo also have some English-language pages.
The Korea Broadcasting System (KBS) operates two television networks and six radio networks. Other public TV broadcasters include Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC), and Education Broadcasting System (EBS). There are also a number of private television operators, such as Inchon Television (iTV), Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS), Jeonju Television Corporation (JTV) and SkyLife - a digital satellite TV operator. The American Forces Network (AFN) Korea is a television station designed for the US military, but is also watched by many Koreans.
In addition to KBS, there are a number of other radio stations in South Korea, including:
- American Forces Network (AFN) Korea - radio for US military
- Buddhist Broadcasting System (BBS) - Buddhist network
- Christian Broadcasting System (CBS) - Christian network
- Far East Broadcasting Corporation (FEBC) - religious network
- Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation - operates MBC Radio and music-based MBC FM
- Seoul Broadcasting System - operates SBS-FM
