Getting There and Travelling Around

There are regular passenger ferry services between St Kitts and Nevis (2 to 4 a day), with a travel time of around 45 minutes.

There is also an excellent road network on both islands, making any area accessible within minutes. However, care must be taken at night as roads are not well lit. Cars are available for hire, although it is usually best to pre-book before arrival. Mopeds may also be hired, although anyone intending to hire a moped should bear in mind that safety equipment is not included in the price and that road users do not usually give bikes due consideration.

Travel between villages may be carried out using the regular, but unscheduled, bus service. Taxis are also available and have set rates. Drivers expect a 10% tip and there is a 50% surcharge between 10pm and 6am.
