Central America

Central America is the central geographic region of the Americas, bordered by the Gulf of Mexico to the north, the Caribbean to the northeast and the Pacific Ocean to the southwest. It has an area of some 523,000 square kilometres and consists of a narrow isthmus (land bridge) that extends from the Isthmus of Tehuantepec in Mexico south-eastward to the Isthmus of Panama.
