Culture and Etiquette

Traditionally hospitality is in the Belarusian culture, and the people are warm, friendly, and welcoming. Handshaking is the usual greeting. Company and business gifts are well received. Smoking is acceptable.

You should be aware that you could be fined for jaywalking. You should also avoid taking photographs of all government buildings, military installations and uniformed officials.
