Good Time to Visit

Weather

Liechtenstein has a temperate, alpine climate, with warm wet summers from May-August, and mild winters.

With a minimum of 6 cm of rain a month, visitors are advised to bring waterproofs. Lightweight clothing with some warmer layers are advised for summer, whilst warm heavyweights will be needed for winter.

Festivals

Masked Balls are held in February. In the summer months, Liechtenstein hosts several band music festivals, known as Verbandsmusikfest, which take place in Vaduz, Mauren, Eschen and other locations. Vaduz also hosts an Open-Air Film Festival, usually in June or July. The country's National Day is celebrated on 15 August, with processions and fireworks.
