Weather
Macedonia has a continental climate, with hot summers from June to September and very cold winters. Visitors are advised to bring lightweight clothing and raincoats in the summer, with mediumweight clothing and warm overcoats in winter.

Festivals
The annual five-day Balkan Festival of Folk Dances and Songs is held in Ohrid in early July. It draws folk groups from across the Balkan region, while the Ohrid Summer Festival, offers a variety of music and theatre. Other notable festival include the Skopje May Opera Evenings, the International Camera Festival in Bitola, and the Jazz festivals in Skopje.
