Kuwait has five daily newspapers published in Arabic (including the Al-Watan, Al-Qabas and Al-Rai al-Amm) and three daily newspapers published in English (the Arab Times, Kuwait Times and The Daily Star). The press remain loyal to the ruling family, but enjoy some freedom.

The state runs Kuwaiti TV, which operates three networks and satellite channel, and there are a number of other television channels available, such as Al-Rai (via satellite) and Flash TV.

The state also operates Radio Kuwait, which broadcasts programmes in English and Arabic. There is also one music-based private radio station, Marina FM, named after the shopping complex 'Marina World'. BBC World Service is available on FM in Kuwait City.
